Unless you’ve been living under a rock the past couple days you have seen plenty of the effects of several days of rain fall followed by torrents of rain. The reports I’ve gotten from some of the ginners in SC have been in the 15-20 inches of rain in many areas. Most of them are relatively cut off from driving to survey the damage yet and some areas are still getting rain.
Lets not forget that while SC is in the news at the moment, this rain event was actually spread over several days up and down the east coast affecting people from New Jersey all the way down to GA. I heard from one ginner in Virginia today that had received 15 inches of rain in some areas near him.
I’m including a LINK HERE to an article that agronomists in North Carolina put together. It may be helpful to spread around. This actually came out on Saturday October 3. Your local agronomists may have better recommendations for your area, growing conditions and varieties but at least you have a start.
Please let us know how you’re doing.
