>Dixons Win Award

>

The Southeastern Cotton Ginners Association would like to congratulate Association Director, Jaclyn Dixon Ford and her brothers Carl Mathis Dixon and Quentin Dixon for being awarded Cotton Grower Magazine’s Marketer of the Year. The Dixon sister and brothers are 3rd generation producers and have several agricultural interests in South Georgia.

In addition to being cotton farmers the Dixons, along with their parents, operate a gin, cotton warehouse, peanut buying point, and farm supply. They need all this to take care of their farm on which they raise cotton, corn, watermelons, peanuts, and pecans.

Jaclyn, a graduate of the University of Georgia, worked for Georgia Farm Bureau as a lobbyist before returning to South Georgia to run the gin. She and her brother Carl Mathis have primary responsibility for the gin but the whole family take a role in all of their operations. It truly is a family/team operation. The Dixons joined the Association the year they bought the gin and have been members ever since. Jaclyn was appointed to the Board of Southeastern Cotton Ginners in 2009, elected for a full term in 2011 and has also been appointed to the State FSA committee.

Congratulations to Board Member Jaclyn Ford and her brothers Carl Mathis Dixon and Quentin Dixon for being named the Marketer of the Year by Cotton Grower magazine.
